Hi LMM friends! I am so excited to be sharing some seriously yummy snack ideas with you today! One of my favorite comfort foods is popcorn drenched in butter and salt. Today, I get to share with you some different ways to deck out your kernels…and each one is amazing! I encourage you to try them all out with your family. Get your kiddos in there with you and make a batch of popcorn and pop in a movie…these flavors won’t disappoint!
*For each of these flavor recipes I start out with a fresh batch of popcorn. You can find popping corn kernels at every store. I recommend popping the corn yourself on the stove top, rather than microwaving it. With each of these flavor combinations, just mix the ingredients as said and toss over your popcorn! Enjoy friends!
Lemon Honey Rosemary
I love this sweet and savory mix of flavors. The best part is the honey aftertaste. This might be for a more sophisticated pallet…though my toddler loves this flavor.
Here is what you need;
`zest and juice of one lemon
`1/4 honey
`1 tbs dried rosemary
`Mix these ingredients together in a bowl. Toss over popcorn.
Cake Batter
This is by far my favorite! My favorite ice cream flavor is cake batter, even my favorite candle scent is cake batter. Even though I do bake all my cakes from scratch…there is a certain taste known to all that comes from box cake mixes. For this recipe you have to use it, and you will love it. (If you are a cake batter fan) Warning-It is very sweet!
Here is what you need;
`1 cup of yellow cake mix
`1/4 softened butter
`1/2 cup white chocolate
`sprinkles
`In a saucepan over low heat melt the white chocolate and butter until it becomes smooth and glossy. Whisk in the cake mix. Once it is completely incorporated drizzle over the popcorn and toss with sprinkles!
Cinnamon Caramel
This is obviously a crowd favorite. There are many ways to make caramel corn. This technique is the ‘lazy’ approach. It takes some time…but it tastes great! Pairing the warm cinnamon with the sweet caramel sauce is delicious!
Here is what you need;
`1 cup brown sugar
`1/4 white corn syrup
`1/2 cup butter
`1 tsp vanilla
`1/2 tsp baking soda
`1 tbs cinnamon
`pinch of salt
`In a sauce pan over medium heat melt the butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt. Heat this until it becomes a caramel color. Bring it to a boil. Add the baking soda, cinnamon and vanilla-continuously stir. Once the mixture reaches 250′ degrees or has been boiling for about 10 minutes, remove from heat and drizzle over popcorn. Toss the popcorn and let it cool before eating.

My name is Jacqui and I am the author of Baby Boy Bakery. Over in my neck of the woods I’m the ‘health nut’ who bakes a ton of desserts. I usually eat the majority of them…sometimes more than once a day. But who’s counting? (My butt probably!) I do have a passion for eating organic and keeping leafy greens a daily staple in my family’s diet. However, lets face it…I make desserts for a living and a girl likes to indulge every so often. (Key word being often) So, I bake with only organic-all natural ingredients and call it even. I’ve come to realize I just like to eat. Period.

Cake Batter popcorn… is this real life?? YUMMM!!!

I tried to make the cake batter popcorn, it did not turn out. I tried 3 times and gave up. Every time, my butter and chips would seperate, then I would try adding the cake mix and it would just turn powdery, not even something you could coat the popcorn with.
