#GiftToast The Special People In My Life

December 11, 2015

**SCROLL TO END OF POST FOR A GIVEAWAY**

Giving presents was a language of love in my family growing up. I was raised on heartfelt gifts and thoughtful surprises. The gifts were never about accumulating material possessions. Unwrapping a present from my grandparents, auntie or mom was the same as them telling me: I know you. I get you. I know what brings you joy. I know your favorite colors, the kind of style that makes your heart beat faster and the type of books that fill your soul. And when I was out shopping, I was thinking of you. I knew you would love this. And I love you. Flash forward many years, and the art of gift giving remains my love language today. When JCPenney challenged me to #GiftToast special friends in my life, I was more than up for the challenge. I’m lucky enough to have a community of really solid friends and family in my corner. They support me. They show up. They forgive me. They sacrifice. They teach me. They listen. They love my children. They laugh with me. And they cry with me. While I make an effort to let them know how important they are to me all year round, the holiday season is the perfect excuse to surprise them with a special gift to let them know they are on my mind and that I’m grateful for our relationships. When I went to JCPenney, I was on the hunt for several smaller gifts so I could curate gift sets I knew my friends would love. But I was shocked at how many name brands I recognized and how many awesome holiday gifts at a great price that I also put on my list. Check out a few of the goodies I put on my list: 2-1-Recently Updated1-001An AMAZING collection of Star Wars goodies. My kids were in heaven at the selection of toys, clothes and bedding all-things-Star-Wars. But they also had a huge selection of really cute Star Wars stuff for adults–like cuff links for Dad, joggers for mom, and of course baseball tees with Yoda! I’m obsessed with both pairs of these Nike’s (black and leopard) and you better believe I emailed them to Ben for my Christmas list. And those black booties, so classic and such a great price! Also, how perfect is that black I Heart Ronson romper for holiday parties?! The black wool felt hat is classic for fall and winter (might just have to add that to my list too). Did you know you could find Essie and OPI nail polish at JCPenney? Because I didn’t! And I ended up finding the most perfect holiday gold OPI polish. Visit the salon in a JCPenney near year and you’ll find so many great beauty products! The KitchenAid Artisan Mixer comes in basically any color you can think of and it’s on sale for the holidays! And the All A Glow Brush Set is the perfect gift under $20 for anyone on your list. I picked out so many awesome gifts! And how about this amazing infinity scarves! I purchased these gift sets at their discounted holiday price and then I opened them up to curate my own gift sets. It was so much fun! These also make great gifts for teachers, co-workers or stocking stuffers.

09-thumb_IMG_9654_1024 Lip balm gift set, Buxom Don’t Miss A Beat Lip Polish Collection, Around the World Infinity Scarf 06-thumb_IMG_9659_1024 And now, I challenge you to #GiftToast some of the important people in your life. Check out JCP.com for more awesome gift ideas. And scroll down for a chance to win $$$ to JCP. 13-IMG_9669 02-thumb_IMG_9670_1024

I would like to #GiftToast my sister. She and her husband take wonderful care of me, my husband and our girls and while we all like to take care of them in return, showing her that I’ve thought of her in the way a gift shows would be perfect. For so long I knew that gifts meant more than just buying someone something and your explanation of I know you, I’ve thought of you with gifts is exactly what my heart thinks so thank you!

I would like to # Gift Toast my daughter who has taken care of me and got me to get out with friends, since my husband of 54 1/2 years passed away 2 1/2 years ago. She makes sure I have food and my medication and takes me to my doctor appointments. She checks on me after work every day. My daughter is also a teacher for
Special Needs Children, ages 3 and 4 years old. She cares about those children like they were her own. She loves them and they know it and return her love. My daughter deserves a special day, just for her!
