The Art of Headband Wearing {and a challenge, AND a link party}

I love headbands. Everything about them.
I love that they hide a bad hair day, that they dress up a boring outfit, that they give your look a little spunk.  I have nearly a dozen of them, from all my favorite shops out in etsy and blogland.  But when it really comes down to it, I don’t wear them as often as I could.  I select my outfit and then add one of my extra cute headbands for garnish…then…just as I am about to walk out the door, I feel uncomfortable and take it off.  I can’t be the only one who goes through this routine, right?
So that’s where my challenge comes in.
I challenge myself, and YOU, to wear a headband everyday for a week.
Even if you’re just wearing sweatpants and a pony tail–throw on that headband, snap a picture and get ready to link up later next week. It will be a sort of What I Wore {on my head} link party.  And we’d love to still have you play even if you only make it one day. What do you think?
In case you need a little headband wearing inspiration,
here are a handful of pictures showing some of the different ways to sport your headbands:

{casey wiegand wearing just.lovely.things}
{Ainsleigh wearing a Kristi Hoskins design}

So I’m thinking we’ll have the link party next Friday, August 5th.
And then I will feature a handful of y’all in a follow-up post.
Sound good?
Rock the headbands girlies!
Also, if you know of any good headband shops,
put a link in the comments for us.

  40. sounds like a good time to me!! let's headband party! πŸ™‚

  41. Erica @ Acire Adventures says:

    I second what Karri said! I'd love to be able to wear headbands like you ladies, but they seriously don't stay on my head. I can just feel them sliding off slowly and in half an hour it's all out of place and looks funny. It drives me nuts!

  42. Chrissy says:

    check out KV Handmade http://www.kvhandmade.com or Kali Vise Handmade on Facebook! Cute headbands and other accessories!!

  43. I posted earlier but forgot to add… to everyone who says they feel "too old" to wear the headband, i find that wearing it lower and to the side above my hear helps and wearing a headband that looks polished and a little vintage helps too. i struggled with the same thing… i didn't want to look like I was "trying too hard" when I wore one. So I started making my own that didn't feel funny to wear LOL

  77. I just wanted to say…
    I am really ENJOYING your headband challenge. I have been SELF-CONSCIOUS because the thickness and texture of my hair has changed drastically since I had babies. But when I saw this challenge, I REALLY wanted to do it. I have put forth an EFFORT to be fancy, and unique, and love my reflection. It has been joyful. Can't wait to {show off} and see everyone's look on Friday! πŸ™‚

  80. Elle The Heiress says:

    I LOVE the headband trend and I wish that I could wear them, but I feel like they're too much accessory on my head since I wear glasses. That's the same reason why I felt like I needed to stop wearing earrings, too. I don't want to be the dumb girl who has too much stuff around her face – like the girls who wear too much makeup. You know what I mean?

  81. check out posiesandpattycakes.etsy.com.

  97. Clip’n Band is the only headband that stays on my head. The reason it doesn’t slip off is because it has clips sewn on the inside of the headband to hold it in place.

    It really won’t move.

    Like I said, I have never been able to wear headbands until I found Clip’n Band.

    The great thing is that Clip’n Band is having a clearance event and offering crazy low prices on their Facebook page starting on 6/18/14. Their page is facebook.com/clipnband. You must like their page to participate.

    Or you can visit their website at http://www.clipnband.com.

  98. Go check out Lola wraps on Facebook.
