Nap time.
It’s fleeting around these parts.
Every day it becomes a bit less consistent,
and I realize it’s only a matter of time before it stops all together.
Like clock work, half way through his nap,
Baby W wakes up crying and looking around the room for his Momma.
He spots me, whines until I curl up next to him,
and then closes his eyes, usually puts his arm or leg over me
and drifts back to sleep.
He always makes sure some part of our bodies are touching
that way I can’t sneak away without him noticing.
And yesterday, he wanted to be REALLY sure
I didn’t escape our mid-nap cuddle session.
So he threw his entire body on me
and fell fast asleep.
You’re not going anywhere Momma.

Too funny! I cried when my oldest quick nap time. (serious tears for like a week and praying that it was a fluke).

i LOVE snugglin' with my babes…. i usually go up and get my daughter around 5am and bring her to my bed just to snuggle.. hear her breathe… its just such a perfect moment to be close… b/c you're right- its not gonna last forever. My almost 4yr old son can't sit still long enough for me to hold him close like that anymore. glad we had those moments when we did.

What a sweetheart! I have 2 little mama's boys myself, and while there are moments I wish I could be by myself without my little barnacles, they grow so fast! I am constantly reminding myself to stop and breathe in these fast-fleeting precious moments!

I used to be upset when my two year old wouldn't let me do anything but I later realize I better embrace every second of it because they grow and become more and more independent everyday. Cherish the moment.

So sweet…. I have an 8 year old that still does this on occasion at bed time. However, sometimes instead of calling for me to come to him, he'll just get up, come to my room and crawl in bed with me. Then he'll throw his arm over me, pat me, then fall right to sleep. I know someday soon, I'll miss that.

I thought I was the ONLY one who had such a hard time with naps…they used to be SO consistent…now I will take a nap WHEREVER I can get it…happened to be the floor the other day..and my lil man does the same thing…wakes up halfway through..wants me with him..and than I sneak away after a few moments……

I love it! My little W is so similar to yours…they would have so much to talk abo ut! Our naps are getting to be the same…he won't go to bed without mama laying next to him…and he grabs my neck and holds so tight there's no way I can get away! Anytime I even breathe deeply he tightens even, harder!

I LOVE these pictures Ashley!! Last night Baby B woke up in his crib crying. I go in and he reaches up for me. I grabbed my favorite blanket of his, wrapped it around him and cuddled him in our rocking chair. Only to feel a warm sensation on my tummy. My little love pee'd all over me and didn't even mind doing it. 🙂 He is only 8 months…so I'll forgive him…this time.

That's so sweet! My little guy likes to snuggle too. Every time he wants to rock or get in bed with me I cave, because I know that this won't last forever. He won't always want to snuggle with me, especially when he's a sweaty teenager who would rather snuggle with a girlfriend. lol I'll take whatever I can get until then though.
