Lil W’s Truck and Car Room

white t-shirt rug

Before Lil W was born I decorated his room in the traditional light blue and white with touches of chocolate brown.  It was sweet, but I think I mostly went that direction because I was too unsure of my style to do what I really wanted–and that was to add some color and whimsy.  Flash forward two years…now I know my style a bit more and I have a toddler obsessed with cars and trucks–and so a theme for Lil W’s big boy room emerged. It’s nothing too flashy. The room {…Read More…}

Mod Podge Wall Art: display kiddos artwork

Mod Podge DIY

Lil W and I started Mommy & Me preschool. And with preschool, came art projects. Art projects that make a Momma proud. I decided I needed a cute way to display the precious pieces I bring home each week. I also mentioned how I am slowly but surely re-doing Lil W’s room. Primary colors. Cars. Trucks. Balls. All things Boy.  So I thought this project would be the perfect way to hang up his goodies in his room–once my fridge iscompletely covered, that is. 3 wooden {…Read More…}

Dollar Store DIY Boys Room Wall Art

DIY car and truck wall art

I’m in the middle of giving Lil W’s room a bit of a ”big boy” makeover.  Aside from his red race car bed, we still have all of his light blue and brown nursery decor in the room–and it just looks mismatched.  And considering he is obsessed with all things related to cars and trucks, we’ll be going in this direction for our theme. I made this wall art using frames from the Dollar Tree.  It was super easy. Supplies: 6 4×6 plastic frames from the Dollar {…Read More…}

How to Make a Coffee Filter Wreath

DSC_1119-1.JPG

  Post by Michelle {Little Miss Momma’s Momma} Ashers has been begging me to make her one of these for so long, and now she has one. You may remember the lampshade I made her a few days ago, well I had lots of coffee filters left over so I decided to make her a fun wreath to match.  I’ve seen a bunch of these wreaths on pinterest, and I knew it would be fairly simple to make. It’s so easy. This is all you need: Styrofoam {…Read More…}

A Peek into My Living Room

A Look Into Our Living Room Originally my plan was to show you guys the craft room/office. Except there has been quite a bit of crafting {sewing} going on in that room as of late, so it is hardly picture ready.  So in the meantime, I thought we could take a look through the living room.  This is our version of the “fancy” room {although its not one bit fancy}–the one we don’t sit in as much–the one without the television–the one where I can {…Read More…}

A Peek at the Kitchen in Our New Place

Hooray, the kitchen is unpacked. Not quite shabby chic, not quite urban farmhouse, not quite french bistro–so we’re going with Chateau Chic. And I don’t really think that’s an actual design term, but it seems to work for this space. We work with what we have {and often what has been given to us}, so that usually means you will find a combination of styles and themes within my decor.  Next room to finish up…the craft room/office. Stay tuned, as we go room by room.

Spring Time Decor and Easter Inspiration

It seems that the hubby’s unexpected knee surgery has led to a change of plans around these parts. Emails have gone unanswered. Posts have gone unposted. Dishes have gone unwashed. And laundry has gone un-laundered, as the husband has been confined to the couch loopy on pain meds while I spend my days forming a human barrier between his knee and our crash test dummy of a toddler. And to top things off, Baby W’s two year molars have decided to come out and play this {…Read More…}

Silhouette Subway Art {13th Article of Faith}

Silhouette Subway Art {13th Article of Faith} YES, I realize that it looks a bit like I applied these vinyl letters while off roading.
