This is getting bookmarked, it is going to be absoulutely perfect for my son's birthday. I always thought I would need a whoopie pie pan to do the caky part, good to know it works well without the pan. Jake was born on Halloween and I can see these fitting right in with orange and black sprinkles!

I think it's funny that you said to get them outta your house. I usually do a fourth or half of a recipe (if possible). If I do a full recipe, I *definitely* have to get it out of the house ASAP!

I made these for my mom and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day using red velvet cake and cherry chip cake to make 2 different kinds of pies. Well, the moms went bananas over them and thought they came from a fancy bakery because they looked so professional! I rolled the sides of the red velvet pies in chocolate sprinkles from Holland and the cherry chip in red sugar crystals. We even had some extras for the hubs and me. Hubs “tested” one when they were ready — his reaction: “I LOVE YOU!”
Needless to say, these were a hit! Thanks for making me look like a baking rock star! 😉
