I don’t really know where to start the story of US.
Do I start on the first day our eyes locked,
and a part of me just knew?
Do I start a year before we met,
and the events that prepared me to have faith in us?
Do I start on the day you became the first guy to really really break my heart?
Or do I simply begin with my journal entry, written a few days after we met:
June 17, 2004
Tomorrow I am going to kick the soccer ball around with Ben {the adorable basketball coach from work}. I don’t know why I’m giddy and looking forward to something so small and simple. I mean, we’ve hardly spoken, but I swear, when he looks at me I nearly forget my name. Wow, I don’t if I’ve ever felt quite this way before. And the way he makes me feel, is what I love about life. I don’t want to have to try so hard and fight for happiness and a connection. If it’s real and true, then the connection will happen on its own–naturally. Sure, there will be bumps along the way, but during the rough times, support and unconditional love will replace frustration and blame. I believe such true, real love exists–and I believe it may have just found me.

Amazing to be able to look back on that and feel those butterflies again! I wish I had kept a journal around when I had met my fiance. That's a big part of why I started blogging + keeping a private journal.

Okay seriously, we need to be BFF because I JUST (yesterday!) wrote a blog that I titled "The Story of Us" but then at the last second I changed it to just "Us."
Basically, we're twins.

I'm really excited because I see from your "Top 10 Moments" in life post that he baptized you, so I'm really excited to hear how all that comes into play. sooooo cute! i wrote a five page journal entry about the time i met my hubby and the first few dates we went on…this reminded me how happy i am that i did that! how fun it will be for the kiddos to read it when they get older

my hubby was the first guy to really really break my heart, too;) But that was a blessing I needed…to really KNOW I wanted to be with him so painfully bad;)
You’ve made my evening….this 62 year old lady copied your cloth flower instructions and the creamed egg instructions….I can’t wait to try both….I too love writing…no formal training but wrote for our small town paper for about five years until a year ago when economy got to bad to sell advertisements to keep it going….so I’m full of words and no outlet….Just had a small town election …for new mayor and two councilpersons…I wrote a four page letter for the three of my choice and it was sent out to 480 registered voters….404 voters turned out and my candidates won two to one against their opponents….One of the new councilmen said I should blog…Now, I know how to send e-mails, pull up facebook, write letter and save, etc….but blog? I thought I had something in my teeth (blog…maybe another word for floss…lol)….anyway, he thinks I would be good at it and after reading yours (only the second or third I’ve read over) I think maybe it would be fun….just need to know how to get started….I’m sure I can find someone who will help me….thianks for the inspiration….you have such an adorable family….always love and be kind to each other, never say a bad word about the other, especiallly in front of the children (or child)….life goes by so quickly….always have each other’s backs….see here I go again….can’t seem to stop….lol…..thanks again…Keep in touch……Valerie
