Some Randoms

DSC_1306.JPG

Some randoms, just because. Well, mostly because my brain isn’t working and these things have been on my mind. 1. I’ve just recently re-discovered Cocoa Krispies, and I’m so glad I did. Nothing beats the chocolate milk once you’ve finished the bowl of cereal. 2. Do you ever feel like your face is rejecting your makeup? Because that’s what I’m experiencing. I think I need to try a new brand. 3. We’re still here in Wyoming, and my hands are cracked, my lips are peeling {…Read More…}

Yosemite Family Vacation

DSC_0437.JPG

When I was a kid I wore work boots, a pony tail and overalls nearly every day. I collected pocket knives, held a sling shot in my back pocket and had a toy bow and arrow. My afternoons were spent catching lizards and frogs, poking horned toads with sticks and chasing down my pet chicken, Scruffy. I built forts, dug holes and got dirty. I even touched bugs. It’s safe to say I was a bit of a tomboy, a tomboy who loved the outdoors. Flashforward {…Read More…}

Meet Brooke White: a fashion post and giveaway

Brooke White of Jack and White

I have a new friend. Her name is Brooke. Brooke White. You may have heard of her, from this little show called American Idol. I’ve watched every season. But this was the only season where I actually voted. And it was for her. She made me smile then, and she makes me smile now. About a month ago I met Brooke in person. Like a total goof ball, I confessed my infatuation with her on Idol, and I even ended with “I totally voted for {…Read More…}

I Get Brown in the Summer and Drink Salsa Like It’s Diet Cherry Pepsi

I’m Mexican. Well not completely. You see, my Dad is half Mexican {although he looks 100%}, so I guess that makes me a quarter. Which is why I get brown in the summer,  have hot salsa running through my veins, and will forever have a soft spot in my heart and in my tummy for my Grandma’s crunchy chicken tacos and albondigas soup. So when the Padre came over for dinner tonight, I decided to cook up some Mexican goodness. {that’s a Kobe Bryant Lakers {…Read More…}

I think we need to see other people…

I think we need to see other people. She said to her best friend when she answered the door and they were wearing the same outfit. {left: Old Navy; right: Burlington Coat Factory} Btw: we were also wearing the same shirt in the same color–seriously.

The Art of Taking an Impromtu Family Portrait {with toddlers}

We tried, we really did… And yes, my child is the only one bouncing off the walls in every picture. And for those of you who watch Modern Family, you know why these are the best kind of family portraits. And now, the cousins {two missing}. These kiddos make me proud. And on a smiliar note, have you ever visited AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com? Ha-Lar-Eee-Us!

The Value of Hard Work

{my Momma and baby me} {my Momma and baby me} One of the things I most appreciate about my Momma, was how she instilled the value of hard work within me at an early age. Now, at the time, I was not quite as appreciative.I remember waking up as a kid on a Saturday morning, making grand plans for the day.I would play in the tree house,catch some frogs,dig a mud hole for my plastic army menand then look for lizards.{yes, I was ever-so-slightly a tom {…Read More…}

I Have a Husband Who

I have a hubby who changes poopy diapers {more than I do}. I have a hubby who makes bottles, feeds his son breakfast, comforts him in the middle of the night, takes baths with his lil guy, dresses him, takes him on drives, plays with him, cuddles him, reads to him, is patient when he cries, wipes his boogies, takes naps with him, and loves him as much as a daddy possibly can–all while working hard to provide for his little family. So when he {…Read More…}
