I’ve been doing my best to listen to my body. Not push myself. Be restful. Slothful even. Because that’s what this little peanut inside of me has been asking for. However, I still have a little toddler who is not feeling quite as “restful” as his Momma. Mornings are the worst. I have the least energy and the room seems to be spinning most of the time. But Lil W…Lil W is rearing to go in the early morning hours. Full of energy. Eager to {…Read More…}

Personalized heart ornament c/o: Lisa Leonard Designs We ordered a pizza. Brewed some hot chocolate. Turned on the Pandora Holiday station. Hung the stockings by the chimney with care. Taught Lil W to say “Cwistmwas tree. Watched him take down the ornaments faster than we could put them up. Got excited for his increased understanding about this special holiday. Watched an episode of Parenthood on Netflix. Said our prayers. And then hit the hay. What are your holiday traditions? We’re looking to take on a few {…Read More…}

{Amy, Me, Katie, Brooke} {Me, Megan, Kim, Amy} Lil W was a skeleton fireman for Halloween–don’t ask. I was a last minute astronaut–again, don’t ask. And this year, Halloween was three days long. Starting with a preschool parade one day, followed by a church trunk or treat another day and ending with a traditional trip around the neighborhood on Halloween day. It’s possible that he was the only toddler still trick or treating at 9:00 pm. But that’s how my kid rolls–night owl. On another note…is {…Read More…}

What do you do when you realize the invite to your dinner party that night says “wear a costume”, and you don’t have one? Well, if you’re like me, then you go to your closet and realize that quite a bit of what you see is reminiscent of a particular decade. So why not make the most of that super sweet shoulder padded bolero, bust out your favorite side pony tail and clip on those radical dangle earrings–ta da! You’ve got yourself a costume. And yes, while {…Read More…}

My second Mother’s Day was perfect and simple. Simply perfect. We enjoyed a touching morning at church followed by a trip to the beach to visit my Momma, Baby W’s grandma. We spent last Mother’s Day at the beach too. And while so much has changed, everything is still the same. See what I mean: THIS year. LAST year. THIS year. LAST year. {the naked lady in the background thought Baby W was cute} THIS year. LAST year. How did you spend your day?

Dear Wifey, I’m taking over your blog today as big-mr-dad (get it?)because afterall, you shouldn’t have to post something on mother’s day…right? First, I want to say Happy Mother’s day to the LMM readers and say thank you. I am continually impressed with mommy bloggers as I have also become quite entertained from reading some of your blogs and nearly all of the comments you leave on LMM. Why Hello Easter. We sure had fun yesterday, didn’t we. Good food, good friends, good family, good times. Because I have an awesome family, who always picks up my slack, Easter was “delivered” to my home this year. In other words, Easter was potluck style. From the appetizers, the main course even down to the the decorations. I just had to make sure my home was clean. …somewhat clean, at least. A few of the day’s highlights: #1. My Auntie Debbie’s Woman’s Day Magazine inspired Peeps {…Read More…}

This year I decided I wasn’t going to let Valentines Day get the best of us. No matter how simple our evening would turn out, I was determined that we would do something romantic. And that something romantic {making chocolate covered strawberries together}, got a little out of hand. Apparently the hubs decided chocolate moustaches were much more romantic. {still learning how to open his eyes for photos, but his dimples totally make up for it}. How was your V-Day? Wild and crazy? Do tell, {…Read More…}

My birthday used to be about BIG presents, and lots of them, a “special” cake with sparkly candles, balloons and streamers, and being the center of attention for an e.n.t.i.r.e. day. And while all those things are totally awesome, this year’s birthday was a bit different… and completely perfect. I woke up at 7am, went to Church, taught Sunday school to 40 adorable kiddos, came home to a sick hubby and baby {I’m still sick too, btw}, had a quick bite to eat, and then took {…Read More…}

Happy Very First Daddy’s Day to my Hubby Hubster Baby W wanted you to have this: His very first work of art, painted especially for you. And let Mommy tell you, that this project was truly a labor of love. Let’s just say Baby W wasn’t as excited about finger painting as I anticipated. Other than the time he accidentally crawled into the paint and then I forced him to put his hand on the paper… Baby W was a bit more excited about picking {…Read More…}

Happy Little Miss Momma’s Day Mommy, Daddy and Baby W spent our very first Momma’s Day at the beach. This was the baby’s first time at the beach where he was actually old enough to touch the sand–and boy, did he ever. He threw it in the air… And stacked it against his tummy… And inspected the tiny grains in between his fingers… And then he ate it–and I freaked out! Surely sand consumption cannot be good on a baby tummy…or bummy?! Note: the friendly {…Read More…}
